Like most of the houses on Manning Street, this house first appears in the 1893 Birdseye map of Ipswich. In the 1910 Ipswich map the owner is G. Haskell.

A relationships has not yet been determined with George Haskell, a lawyer, who constructed the large white house on Argilla Road at the base of Heartbreak Hill in 1855-56.
