Walking tours of the historic neighborhoods of Ipswich are led by Town Historian Gordon Harris, who shares the histories of our historic houses and the stories of the people who lived in them
Tour of the Historic Districts
This is a partial tour of the South Green, East End, High Street and Meeting House Green Historic Districts. This small group tour is approximately 2 miles, takes between 1 1/2 to 2 hours, and is designed for persons who can walk at a moderate pace. Shorter and easier walking tours of each historic district will be scheduled throughout the fall if there is sufficient interest.
- Location: The tour starts across the river from the Ipswich Visitors Center at the Ipswich Riverwalk Mural behind the EBSCO buildings and Zumi’s. View at Google Maps.
Meeting House Green tour
This shorter and easier tour visits the oldest area of Ipswich, Meeting House Green, North Main, Summer Street, and bit of East and County Streets.

Dates and Reservations
There is no set charge but gratuities are appreciated. Group size for each tour will be limited to about a dozen people.
